“Urban planners are focusing on the critical role that ‘third places’ can play in strengthening our sense of community. ‘Third places’ is a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg and refers to places where people spend time between home (‘first’ place) and work (‘second’ place). They are locations where we exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships” (Brookings Institute, 2016).
MISSION
At Blacklist, our goal is to create memorable and high quality social experiences that inspire authentic connections and new friendships. Through music, culture, and thoughtfully crafted daytime events, we provide a platform for individuals to engage in meaningful conversations and expand their social networks.
In 2024, Blacklist was proudly supported by Hinge’s Social Impact Program, which awarded $1M total to social groups in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York to combat loneliness for young adults.
